Job Description:
Role Purpose To effectively manage & coordinate the Financial Accounting Team to provide accurate and timely financial and management reports in compliance with internal and external audits, legal and statutory requirements and to safeguard the company’s assets
National Advice
- To assist the Controller to provide financial, legal and tax consultancy/advice to drive strategic investment decisions
- To provide financial management input or expertise for cross-functional projects as required
Group Support
- To provide financial support to other related companies and business units
- To ensure accurate and timely provisions are made for monthly expenditure
Statutory and Regulatory Authorities
- To build effective relationships to enhance the company’s business and statutory reputation within the local legal framework
- To manage the auditing process through external auditors
Agents/Owner Operators
- To support in the financial management and profit sharing of shipments with agents to ensure effective and sustainable relationships are maintained
- To ensure the timely payment of commission to agents/owner operators
Management and Financial Reporting
- To ensure the timely and accurate completion of monthly, quarterly and annual reports for internal and Regional Office use in compliance with the Network Finance Manual, in addition to providing variance analysis and narratives when necessary
- To ensure that the quarterly and annual audited financial statements comply with GAAP and local accounting and auditing standards
- To ensure implementation of audit recommendations from internal and external auditors and compliance with all global and regional network procedures and policies in the finance area
- To ensure compliance with GCC risk management procedures and appropriate coverage for local risks
- To work with Information Services to continuously tap and utilize leading edge technology and processes to increase efficiency in financial reporting
General Ledger Maintenance
- To manage and maintain the General Ledger and Frango/Crest reporting activities
Finance Processes
- To ensure the finance processes comply with regional standards and, where there are deviations, these are adequately substantiated
- To ensure financial systems, policies and procedures are effective and efficient
- To constantly review and improve financial practices, procedures, processes and policies
Cash Flow Management
- To ensure liquidity is sufficient to pay debts when due, and ensure that employees and suppliers can be paid in accordance with relevant deadlines
People Management
- To develop a high performance service culture within the Financial Accounting Team
- To plan, organise and direct an efficient and effective Financial Accounting Team
- To develop IKOs/KPIs with Senior Financial Accounting Staff(s) and monitor individual performance
- To manage the allocation of appropriate resources and commitment of staff to the achievement of team’s objectives and targets
- To identify training needs and opportunities to develop a highly skilled Financial Accounting Team
Required Qualifications/Skills:
- Ability to work with subordinates and senior management
- Experience in logistics industry (preferable)
- Communication skills (Business Level of English), spoken and written (excellent)
- Software skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- 5 - 7 years experience in financial management
- At least 3 years managerial experience, preferably in a large organisation
- Degree in Finance/Accounting or equivalent
- Professional accountancy qualification (CPA or equivalent)
- More than 5years experience of financial accounting in compliance with IFRS & JP GAAP
- More than 5years experience of managerial(including MBO) role
- USCPA(preferable)
- Financial accounting experience in “Gaishi-Kei” company or Japanese company which extends their business globally, and which has more than 1000 employees
- Non “job hopper”
